OUR APPROACH

We provide financial and strategic support to community-led efforts to further Housing Justice and Criminal Legal Reform.

WE SUPPORT

Neighborhood Blockl_edited.jpg
HOUSING JUSTICE

We understand that systemic racism and inequality cause people to experience homelessness.  We know that this is deeply rooted in generations of housing and lending discrimination which have prevented people of color from experiencing the benefits of affordable, safe, and healthy homes.

We support efforts to:

  • Prevent individuals from experiencing homelessness with an emphasis on eviction protection.

  • Increase the access and supply of affordable housing.

  • Strengthen and expand the public safety net.

  • Redirect resources from the broken criminal legal system to expand housing access, especially for people who have been directly impacted by over-policing and incarceration.

The Fund does not give money for direct services and does not support shelters, food programs, or substance abuse or treatment programs.

CRIMINAL LEGAL REFORM

We support organizations which examine the many ways structural racism is embedded in our existing criminal legal system and those working to develop an equitable system that can truly deliver justice for all.

We support efforts to:

  • End extreme sentencing, including the death penalty and juvenile life without parole.

  • End youth incarceration.

  • Redirect resources from over-policing and incarceration to expand housing access, especially for individuals involved in the broken criminal legal system.

  • Expand reentry pathways and supports, with a particular focus on women.
